Background

The ILO alongside IOM, Lawyers Beyond Borders – Malaysia, and the Government of the Philippines, will be participating in a session on the “The use of digital technology in access to justice across borders” at the 2024 United Nations Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum: The Remedy Blueprint  - Bridging Gaps and Accelerating Access in Bangkoj, Thailand on 27 September 2024. Organized by the ILO and the IOM, in collaboration with Migrant Forum in Asia, this session will explore how digital technology can be used to access justice across borders for migrant workers.

The 2024 UN RBHR Forum will convene stakeholders to explore what solutions are still needed to realize access to effective remedy and justice in Asia and the Pacific. The Forum will focus on the following three parallel tracks:  Domestic remedy, transnational remedy and complementary strategies to facilitate access to remedy.

The Forum will also explore sector-specific solutions, presenting opportunities for businesses to devise or advocate for remediation strategies tailor-made for specific industries, which are at the core of sustainable business models.
