Since 2012, the ILO with the support of the UK’s Department Foreign International Aid (DFID) implements a flagship programme to test state of the art practices to reduce vulnerability to forced labour and human trafficking.

In collaboration with multiple development partners, the ILO designed the Work in Freedom Programme, a large ILO inter-regional programme implemented along important labour migration pathways of migrant women workers in South and West Asia. Following ten years of implementation, the programme has documented a rich set of lessons learned and findings that can guide future efforts to tackle similar challenges. A special event will be organized on Monday 26 September from 2 – 4 PM at the ILO in Geneva to present and discuss these findings. Those based in Geneva are welcome to participate in person.
