Background

In a significant step towards integrating labour rights into management education, the International Labour Organization (ILO) is set to host a pivotal side event in Bangkok on the 24th of September 2024.

This event, organized through the ILO's 8.7 Accelerator Lab in collaboration with the Fair Recruitment Initiative (FRI), the Global Business School Network, the University of Geneva, and Winrock, aligns with the Asia Regional Business and Human Rights Forum (RBHRF). Themed "Accelerating the integration of labour rights in management education in Asia-Pacific," the session aims to spotlight innovative practices from the Asia-Pacific region that foster partnerships between academia and civil society. These collaborations are crucial for enhancing the education of labour rights, particularly concerning migrant workers.

A highlight of the event will be the launch of new teaching materials developed by the Fair Recruitment Initiative with the support of the FAIR III project, designed to promote fair recruitment practices for migrant workers. The initiative underscores the ILO's commitment to ensuring that future business leaders are equipped with the knowledge and tools to uphold and advocate for the rights of workers globally.
